The PSV Union FC '01 Girls team is a new 8 v 8 soccer team forming in the Winter of 2009. We anticipate it will take several months to form a new team, as it has in the past with our other teams. The Winter tryouts will allow us to build the team over a period of weeks and gather interest.

PSV Union is the most successful girls soccer club on the Peninsula with some of our players and teams among the best in Northern California. See our older teams details below for more information. Some of the players have been in our club for 4 years, since U10. Utilizing our highly commended, proven coaching methods and unparalleled coaching staff we are hoping to build on the major success we have achieved with the existing teams.

About The Team.

The team will play in US Club sanctioned NorCal Premier league play. The players range in age from 7 to 9 years of age. We pay play the team 'up' against older players in league play. We believe that if a player is good enough, they are old enough. All of the coaches and Union FC played 'up' as youngsters. While this can be difficult in terms of achieving favorable match results, it is, on the other hand, beneficial for the players/teams long and short term development. All players play on the same size 8 v 8 field in league play. The jump to 11 v 11 on full-size fields doesnt occur until U/11-U12. At some point in the next few years, the team may play back in their own age group so its likely that they will be playing 'up' for the next few years.

Our goal is long term development. PSV Union FC is an fully inclusive club which offers an environment for all young players who are given the best opportunity to develop their skills and joy of the game with out the pressure to win at all costs. At the youngest ages there can be very large differences in ages, size and athletic ability of players PSV Union FC looks at the dedication and joy of playing of the player.

PSV Union FC believes that any player regardless of age if they show ability and dedication to the game should have the opportunity to play on an older/upper level team in order to challenge each player and provide valuable learning experiences. The PSV Union FC philosophy is unique- All players are members of the club and not individual teams which means that younger players can guest up and then return to their own age groups to benchmark against their peers. This model, which is not unique to high level professional clubs, allows us to bring out the best in all of the players.

At Union we try to develop the players and the teams they play on. We are always looking for players who love to play, love to learn and have a passion for the game.

Players are required to attend a minimum of 2 practice days per week- The regular practice days are Tuesday and Thursday, however this is not a definite.

Read the Code of Conduct and Club Rules and Information pages on the website before trying out.

A registration form, photo and birth certificate copy can be sent electronically. Fees and forms/paperwork must be received before participation. See 'Registration' page for details.
